If you’ve ever rustled through the pages of Outside Magazine for fun or between flights in an airport, or if you’ve looked for the latest products from the North Face, then chances are you’ve see the work of adventure photographer Jimmy Chin.
Chin, a North Face athlete and close companion of Conrad Anker, will be coming to New Haven next month for the company’s Speaker Series. The series stopped in the state last year with ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes, and is a great way to see and meet up with some of the best outdoor athletes today.
Chin’s talk, “A Mountain Called Meru” focuses on the expedition he undertook with Anker and climber Renan Ozturk to the Indian Himalaya in an attempt to summit the alpine peak.
Anyway, the event has free tickets still available for the series when it comes to New Haven at the Yale Law School Levinson Auditorium on Oct. 18. You can find them here.
